Bishop McCort cheerleaders win state championship Saturday

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — There was a happy homecoming Saturday night in Johnstown as family and friends welcomed back the state champion Bishop McCort cheerleading squad.

McCort competed against 33 other teams in their division in Hershey and won the 12-team final Saturday.

"We are so proud; our whole team is. We've always said, this is one of the accomplishments we wanted to make, and we did it. We went out and hit that routine the best we could,” said Madison Buxton & Morgan Lenzi - champion cheerleaders

The team will now go for its third straight national title in February at the National Cheerleading Competition at Disney World in Orlando.
