Everett Railroad & its abundance of excursions

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Decades ago, one man took a gamble with his college savings to purchase a local railroad.

It ran as a rail freight service since the time he bought it, but several years ago they added passenger rail excursions to give riders young and old a chance to take in the sights and sounds of history in motion through the machinery from a by-gone era.

Each year, tens of thousands of people visit the railroad seeking adventure, and for some, a chance to reminisce about the days whenever the sounds of steam locomotive whistles echoed through the valleys of the Allegheny region.

Other popular excursions include the ice cream train, the adventure into Morrison’s Cove and several rides that are for adults over 21 only, due to the serving of alcohol.
