Fire marshal estimates $7-10 million in damages in Emporium Hardwoods fire

SHIPPEN TOWNSHIP – An early-morning fire at a local business in Cameron County leaves a preliminary estimate of damage that is between $7-10 million, after an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit and the Emporium Fire Department.
A fire that broke out at Emporium Hardwoods around 4 a.m. Saturday morning took crews almost four hours to put out. Crews from Elk, Cameron, Potter, McKean and Clinton counties assisted in extinguishing the fire.
According to the fire marshal, several possible contributors to the cause of the fire were determined and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. At this time, there are no suspicions of criminal activity.
