A ribbon cutting in Bedford County happened Friday morning for a new building that will provide space to new and expanding businesses.

State and local officials joined the Bedford County Development Association for the opening of the 24,000 square foot multi-tenant building and new home to the anchor tenant, Cell-Con Inc.

The investment into the building was $6 million and will not only provide space for businesses but will also help economic growth and job creation in Bedford County.

Gene Kiley, Cell-Con CEO, said, "We are so excited. We are in a very competitive industry. We compete domestically as well as internationally, and this facility will allow us to be lean and competitive against the biggest of our competition."

Cell-Con manufactures and assembles batteries and has been around for over 30 years.
