The Southern Huntingdon County School District will be closed to in-person learning Thursday and Friday after a COVID-19 case was confirmed in the high school/middle school building, officials announced Wednesday.

District officials say teachers will resort to virtual learning for the rest of the week.

“We are asking all students to take their electronic devices home today,” officials wrote on Facebook. “Check teacher webpages for guidance on your child's instruction. Additional information will be released as we consult with the Department of Health.”

Officials add that there will be no after school activities, including practices and games, through Friday.

They say a decision will be made Friday whether to resume practices over the weekend.
